I was a regular and still am at Oshawa Tire(craft) and he was always a great person to deal with and always remembered who I was. Condolence From: Heather Rhind
Condolence: I am so saddened to hear about Randy's passing. Randy and I met way back in the 1970's at the Pickering Karate Dojo. I always admired Randy's dedication and ability in the sport, as he worked his way up in the ranks to become a black belt and assistant instructor. Myself, and my future husband, Keith Rhind, became great friends with Randy. We enjoyed many hours of working out and sparring together, not to mention all the social times after the workouts and the annual Christmas parties. Boy did we have some fun times! Everyone always loved to watch Keith and Randy spar, as it was pretty intense! Unfortunately, Keith passed away in February of this year, but I am sure that he and Randy are probably having some great sparring matches up in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time. He certainly has gone too soon. RIP Randy.

Condolence From: Leigh Garvey nee Rundle
Condolence: Randy was a very honest and caring business and family man. I met Randy when I started working in the plaza in 1976 and would take my car to him for servicing. One time while I was waiting for my brakes to be done and new tires put on, I struck up a conversation with the girl beside me. She told me that she was from Kitchener. I asked her why she brought her car all the way from there. She said that she had heard about Randy from a friend and she wouldn't take her car anywhere else after that. When I was in the shop, Randy always talked about his family. He was so very proud of them. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be extremely missed by all.

Condolence From: Korytkowski's
Condolence: For the short period in life that me and the family had the pleasure to train with Randy, I will never forget his energy, enthusiasm and dedication. Unfortunately we were out of the country and were not able to attend the service. Our hearts go out to the Parish family in this truly difficult time. We've only known Randy for 4 years, but we all feel that we've known him for a life-time. He had a natural ability to bring out the best in everyone. Each of us have our own experiences and memories that we will take with us throughout our lives. Randy, you will never be forgotten.

Condolence: Karen and family. Please accept my deepest condolences. Randy was an icon at Oshawa Tire and before that, Uniroyal. He provided us with complete professionalism adding a witty sense of humour. Hard to believe we go back several decades. My thoughts are also with his colleagues and co-workers who knew him best. Heaven now has the best tire man in the business!

Condolence From: Colleen Hilton
Condolence: In all the years that I worked with Randy, I always looked forward to his phone calls. He would call me and say "hey Colleen, ya gotta a minute" and go off on some major rant, at some tire company that he was mad at or the ministry or labour or WSIB...whoever ticked him off that day. When he was done his rant, sometimes, but not always, he would let me get a word in, and then all of a sudden tell me "gotta go" and hang up. Since he retired, I cannot say how much I have missed these calls. Now that I know, that I will never hear his voice again, it just breaks my heart. When Randy was not ranting about something, he was talking with such warmth about his family and how proud he was of his daughters. The world is certainly a quieter, but much more boring place without Randy. I will miss him always. xxoo

Condolence From: Trudy Burke
Condolence: To Randy's family, I was so shocked and saddened to read of Randy's passing - he was taken from you much too soon and much too young. Randy looked after the cars, trucks and vans that our family had over the years. I always looked forward to seeing Randy at the shop and always wondered what joke or quick quip I was going to hear that day. He always made me smile and I always felt I was in good hands and well taken care of. I have read all of the condolences and kind words and memories that others have left. Randy touched a lot of people and his loss will be felt by so many. A very nice tribute to a one of a kind, stand up guy! May those of you who loved him, find a memory in every tear. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Condolence: Dear Randy, I met you about 30 years ago, at your business, Oshawa Tire. You were more then just the guy who owned where I took my car. YOU were a friend, which I am sure you became with all of your customers. Going through different stages of my life with me. Always providing a joke, when I needed to laugh and a frown, when my car was going to cost "too much". Gone to soon........You will be missed and always remembered xo. Dear Randy's family: I am so saddened to hear of Randy's passing. I will be praying for you. Andre, I will be praying for you too.

Condolence From: Bill Burton
Condolence: Marjorie & I were so saddened to hear of Randy's passing. We have been neighbours for over 24 years but only really got to know Randy over the past several months after he retired. Randy was always on the go. I have fond memories of Karen and I watching Randy backing the trailer into the drive. After a little coaching and a half hour he did it with out bruising the garage door or anyone's toes. I will truly miss our chats in my garage where we solved the problems of the world. Randy, and, Bruce our neighbour, and I, would stand in the confines of our secret cave and watched Karen scurry about trying to find him. Thank you for those great memories. Rest in Peace dear friend. To Karen & the girls please except our heart felt condolences.

Condolence From: Bob and Irene Haluschak
Condolence: We met Randy 28 years ago when he surprised the heck out of us by servicing the tires on our garden tractor. It seemed he could get anything for everything. Since then our friendship grew and everytime me or my wife walked in he would holler from across his desk " here comes the Barry's Bay Express" and inside joke, but welcome nonetheless. To Randy's family: we share your loss, I will miss my friend terribly. Irene and I offer you, Karen and your children, our sincerest and most heartfelt condolences. He was special. May he rest in peace in God's embrace.

Condolence From: The Kuczkowski Family
Condolence: We met Randy December 2010, on our way to a Karate Tournament my vehicle decided to dissasemble while en-route during a snow storm and CAA were running 2hrs behind. Our good friend Ted said the only place to go was Oshawa Tire, Randy would take care of us. Randy waited two hours past closing time on this blustery Saturday to wait for the CAA tow to arrive with our vehicle and he had not even met us yet. From that time on he called me "Karate Sue". This was the kind of person my family and I came to know; kind, generous and caring. Over the years we shared stories about Karate, life, music, vehicles and family. Randy always greeted everyone who walked into his shop with a smile and was always excited to tell the next great joke. He so often spoke of his girls and how proud he was of them. The world is now less one great person but we are thankful to have met Randy and enjoyed his humour and expertise. Our condolences to his wife, daughters, family and co-workers. The Kuczkowski's (Dan, Sue, Kathryn and Michael), Courtice Ontario.

Condolence From: Melanie Seymour, Adecco
Condolence: In 2003, I moved our Adecco office to the unit right beside Oshawa Tire. Randy was one of the first people who came to introduce himself...and he would drop in sporadically to grab some candies, tell us a joke or two, and to give us personal updates on the status of our car repairs. A better business neighbour you could never find. He was proud to tell you his daughters latest accomplishments and made you feel that you had met them personally. Girls, you both need to know that about your father...how proud he was of both of you and how he told others how proud he was. A few years ago, Randy coveted a desk sign I gave a co-worker so when he retired, I found the same wording on a mug..."I am still hot, only now it comes in flashes" He was beside himself laughing...so Randy, thanks for everything and I know you will remain "Hot" always. You were one of a kind. Thank you for everything.

Condolence From: Paul McGriskin and Brenda Larocque
Condolence: As I sit and write this message about the sad feelings I have for Karen and the entire Parish family I have deeper thoughts about the loss of my childhood friend Randy. A friendship that began in the sand box and continued into our sixties. A friendship as children that endured our school days along with the rock and roll teenage years. We graduated from school and started full time jobs in 1972. He was a tire guy and I was a car guy. Our friendship remained the same. When we saw each other it was with a big smile followed by you''ll never believe who was just here!! I'm going to miss this. His humour, funny stories and just plain old Randy. With his passing everyone who knew Randy is sad. Now I am looking at the other side of the coin. I had a great friendship that lasted sixty plus years.... Lucky me............ Paul McGriskin

Condolence: Randy was a neighbour for 25 years and we both had very busy lives but he never didn't wave everytime I say him whether it was driving the old blue van on his daily trip home for lunch or with Karen in the car or even walking the street. Got to know him better after he retired and he would wander outside and then across the street to Bill's garage and we would quite a few laughs, especially when Karen came looking for him thinking he was outside on the porch. I am truly sorry for not getting to know you earlier in life because when I dii you were a great guy with a good sense of humour Rest in peace my friend and to Karen and the family my condolences a great man has passed

Condolence From: JOHN HUGHES
Condolence: RANDY HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD FRIEND SINCE HIGH SCHOOL DAYS. HIS SMILE WILL ENDURE AND HIS LOVE OF KAREN, RACHEL AND CAITLYN WAS ALWAYS HIS GUIDING LIGHT. HIS LACROSSE SKILLS WERE EVIDENT WHEN HE PLAYED PLAYERS MUCH BIGGER THAN HE WAS. HIS PERFORMANCE IN "MY FAIR LADY" IN HIGH SCHOOL HAD ALL HIS FRIENDS IN STITCHES. HIS FRIENDSHIP FOLLOWING HIGH SCHOOL AT DURHAM COLLEGE 1969-1972, WAS A BUILDING BLOCK IN OUR 50 YEAR FRIENDSHIP WHILE, DRIVING ME EVERY DAY FROM AJAX TO COLLEGE AND BACK,THE FIRST YEAR, NEVER COMPLAINING, SHOWED HIS TRUE FRIENDSHIP. HE WAS A GREAT BROTHER TO DARRYL AND KIM. RON AND BETTY ALSO MADE US FEEL WELCOME WHEN WE WENT TO THOSE WONDERFUL WEEKENDS IN HALIBURTON AS TEENAGERS. THE COLLEGE TRIPS WERE MEMORABLE BECAUSE RANDY MADE THEM SO. THE B3 CLASS WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN THE FUN IT WAS WITHOUT RANDY'S STYLE. HIS ENTHUSIASM WAS CONTAGIOUS. THE MANY YEARS AT OSHAWA TIRE KEPT MANY OF OUR VEHICLES ON THE ROAD MUCH LONGER THAN WE COULD HAVE IMAGINED. MANY TIMES WHEN I PULLED IN TO THE SHOP,HIS MECHANICS AND EMPLOYEES WOULD RUSH TO HELP AND MADE ME FEEL SPECIAL. OVER THE YEARS HE AND KAREN WOULD CAMP AT ALGONQUIN PARK AND LOVE TO BE OUTDOORS. RANDY WAS ONE IN A MILLION TO ME AND MANY OTHERS. HIS ABILITY TO SHIFT HIS "LANGUAGE SKILLS" OFTEN LEFT ME LAUGHING. WHEN VISITING RANDY RECENTLY, HE WISHED ME WELL ON MY CAMPING TRIPS DESPITE HIS CHALLENGES. I COULD ONLY TELL HIM I LOVED HIM AND I ALWAYS WILL. ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WERE ENCOURAGED THROUGH TOUGH TIMES WHEN RANDY ALWAYS SHOWED UP TO SUPPORT THE HUGHESIES. GOD BLESS YOU RANDY AND I PROMISE TO HELP YOUR GIRLS WHERE EVER I CAN MY FRIEND.
