In his early teens, Hugh decided to make our Mum a birthday cake.  He purchased an angel food cake mix and got to work.  When we got home, he told me what he had done but complained that the icing kept disappearing.  He had mixed up the packets, putting the icing mix in the cake and frosting it with the egg white mix. Of course the egg white bubbles kept bursting and the "icing" disappeared.  We were so proud of his efforts and ate it just the same.
