Orange sea flea

We all loved spending time at our Healy Lake, a place our children grew to love as well.

Hugh begged our Dad to build him a little sporty boat so one winter our Dad set to work.  That summer an orange, pancake shaped little disk, was launched.  Dad put a 10 h.p. outboard on it and it would go like stink.  He was the envy of every kid on the lake that summer, male and female.  What a sight he made zooming by the cottage.  He was so proud of that boat.  Many times he was almost scuppered jumping wakes from bigger boat's...a bailing can was a must.

The time I got the biggest laugh was when he came home in a rainstorm in the sea flea, with a strawberry whipped cream pie, upended and zipped inside his jacket.  I laughed so hard at the mess in the pie box that he denied me a piece and ate the whole pie himself.
