Condolence: Sending thoughts and prayers to the entire Jack family. Can't believe Alsie is gone. He's been a trusted friend and mentor since February of 2007 when we met at the Unifor Port Elgin Education Centre. I always enjoyed his emails and his advise. He spoke endlessly about his family and neighbours and friends. I truly am lucky to have known him. I asked him once which one of his children was his favourite, to which he answered, "the one that needs me the most at the time". He was grounded and wise. I called him Jack. God Bless you Jack, will miss you terribly. Thank you for making me a better person. Thank you.

Thank you to your family for willingly sharing you with Softball. I think they knew how much you loved our great sport and that you wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. Condolence From: Bonnie, Terry O'Brien & Family
Condolence: We are deeply saddened by the news of Alsie's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sandra, Toni, Crystal, Aaron and the rest of the Jack family. As neighbours for almost 25 years we have many fond memories of Alsie ... mostly the "Cornerstone conversations" that would strike up while out walking the dog or cutting the grass. Topics would range from politics to baseball to finance to neighbourhood news. Inevitably though, the conversation would get around to family: what his children were now doing, the arrival of a new grandchild. Alsie was tremendously proud of his family. I believe the best legacy we leave is not for our children but in our children and, certainly, by this measure, Alsie has left a great legacy. Rest in peace friend.

Condolence: The stranger we met became our very good friend! When we think about "all" the people (stranger's) Alsie would come across while out, stop & talk to them, sometimes just a friendly, "hello" or he'd just start up a conversation.. how fortunate we were to have become great friends with Alsie and his Princess, Sandra! Alsie, you always took a nap whenever you felt the need, no matter where or what time it was, and now you've taken your final nap,in the wings of the Angels. I'd say Nap in peace but you always did! Our condolences, Sandra, and family xox Chris & Mary-Anne

Condolence From: The Stanoev Family
Condolence: So very sad to hear the news of Alsie's passing. We will miss his big smile on the ball diamonds next summer. He truly had a passion for the sport of softball. One game...my daughter played SS....Alsie the base ump. My daughter made a great catch......but the throw to first....not so great. Alsie said something to her and she turned to look......she started to laugh and so did he, they kept joking. When she came off the field I asked her what he said, she said.."well that was a million dollar catch too bad it was a 2 dollar throw." God Bless you Alsie, you were one of a kind. Prayers to your family as they try and understand. The Stanoev's - Whitby
