Donna Elizabeth (Glover) Semple passed away on March 12, 2018 at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa after a brief illness. After 36 years of service as a Registered Nurse at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Donna retired in 2009.

She is survived by her mother Mary, her sister Ann and her sister Mary Ellen Snoddon (Randy), nephew Dylan (Andrea), niece Elyse Dupont (Joel) and great-nephews Malcolm and Tristan.

She is pre-deceased by her father Grant and husband, Dave Semple.

She is also survived by Rob and Tracey Semple and their children, Lukas and Erika and by Kim (Semple) Cearns and her children, Megan, Morgan, Jessica and Jake.

Donna will be especially missed by her very special friend, Les, who was at her side with her family to the end.
Donna was part of the last graduating class of Oshawa General Hospital in 1973. Receiving her cap at the ceremony at Parkwood created a special bond with her mother, Mary, who had graduated in 1949. Donna was so well respected that she received the Lakeridge Health (Oshawa General) Award of Distinction, recognizing her contributions.

Her commitment to and love of nursing was so strong that it has inspired her friend and daughter-in-law, Tracey, to become a nurse as well.

Donna brought a very special energy to the world around her; caring and compassionate in nature, she had an effervescent quality that touched everyone she met. She will also be sadly missed by her special pet Riley.

Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Friday March 16th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Barnes Chapel Saturday afternoon March 17th at 2:00 p.m.
