With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Alex at Sick Kids Toronto after a courageous and determined battle with leukemia on May 29th at the age of 16.
Loved and cherished daughter of Laurie Hebor-Bortolato and Paul Bortolato both of Whitby. Forever loved by her brother Nathan Bortolato. Cherished Granddaughter of Ron and Linda Hebor, and Frank and Gail Bortolato. Loved Niece of Brian Hebor and his wife Sheryl , Laura Dewar and her husband Doug. Alex’s cousins Brandon, Brooke, Jakob, Brett, Sarah and Matthew as well as her many many friends will miss her always.
Gizmo has lost his biggest admirer.

Family and friends are invited to Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N Whitby (905-655-3662) from 2 -5 Sunday (June 1st). A service to honour our beautiful Alex will be held in the Barnes Chapel Monday morning at 11:00 a.m.

Alex will be laid to rest at Groveside Cemetery. Alex’s family wish to thank everyone at SickKids for their compassion and kindness, your genuine nature to all of us is truly appreciated.
