Carmel Boulanger (née Lemieux),
Age 89 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Carmel was born on Aug. 1, 1934, in Barachois Que. to William Lemieux and Alma Briand. She grew up on a farm with her many siblings before marrying her husband, Leo Boulanger. The pair moved to Caramat, Ont. to raise their family. In her later years, she came to live in Longlac Ont. then Oshawa, Ont. to be closer to her children.
Carmel enjoyed participating in church activities, spoiling her family with her wonderful cooking, and getting the correct Wheel of Fortune answers before anyone else.
Carmel is survived by her children Leona and Joseph, as well as grandchildren Scott, Katelyn and Anna, and her brother Kenneth. Predeceased by husband Leo, and siblings Ernestine, Harold, Irvine, Ursula, Sylvia, Arthur, Constance, and Leona. The family would like to thank current and former staff of Cedarcroft Place, Extendicare Oshawa and Lakeridge Health Oshawa Stroke Ward for the love and care they provided. A celebration of life will be held in Barachois Que. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
