Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at the age of 65 after a 10-year battle with ALS. Dearly beloved husband of Rosanna (Leherbauer) for just shy of 40 years. Much loved son of Raymond and the late Joyce Porter. Loved son-in-law of Eleanor and the late Alois Leherbauer. Devoted father of Aaron (Carmen) and adored grandpa of Liam, Sierra and Logan. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and friends in England and Canada. David had worked as a millwright at Gerdau Ameristeel Whitby for 30 years. Special thanks to Dr. F. Kwan, Dr. Kassirer, Dr. Zinman and team at Sunnybrook Hospital's ALS Clinic, ALS Canada Regional manager Kim Barry, VON, Silvercross, the LHIN, PSWs and nurses from St. Elizabeth and VHS, the Palliative Drs and nurses, and various neighbours, friends and family who helped us out over the years. A celebration of life will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday March 18th from 3:00 -5:00 pm.
