Joan, peacefully, gracefully and courageously, passed away surrounded by love on February 20th, 2014.

Joan joins the love of her life, George Melvin Smith.

Joan was born in Toronto on June 16, 1932, the daughter of Florence & Norman Moorfield. Survived by her sons William (Jean) & Michael (Kathleen), grandchildren, cousins and many friends.

Joan was very proud of her 60-year tenure with the Order of the Eastern Star, PM, PDDGM. She sincerely cherished all friendships through Eastern Star, Lindsay Condo Board/Social Club/Neighbours and Haliburton County.

We will miss Joan everyday! Her great sense of humor, her love of nature & gardening, her thoughtfulness & caring, always interested in others and lending help when needed. We love you.
At Joan’s request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and she will join her parents at the Pine Hills Cemetery.
