Sanderson, Lois Evelyn
(Member of the Rebeckah Lodge, Life long member of Columbus Community Church /UCW/and Choir)
Passed away at the Wynfield on Wednesday October 14th, 2020 at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband Murray (2012).
Lois will be fondly remembered and deeply loved by nieces, nephews and extended families as well as many cherished friends.
Lois (nee Black), was born and raised in Uxbridge, later moving to Oshawa.
Lois and Murray were married in 1963, making Lois a farm wife, a job she did every day to the highest quality. Lois did not only look after the house but would often be out in the barn or out in the field helping out whenever she was needed.
Lois was blessed with many talents, sewing, quilting, needle point, knitting, crocheting, rug hooking, gardening and she was a fabulous cook and baker.
Lois was always making something and 90% of the time it was a gift for someone else.
Lois always had an abundance of energy and was always willing to help out with school projects, events, fairs, countless number of hours cooking for the church or the lodge, donating quilts or other beautiful objects that she spent hours making or baking, to be sold for the church.
There was always an extra bed available for anyone wanting to come to the farm for a sleepover. And if you had trouble sleeping Aunt Lois would make hot chocolate and watch movies or do puzzles with you till the wee hours of morning.
Sadly because of her illness the personality that many people witnessed over the past few years was the exact opposite of the real Lois Sanderson. Lois was kind, always happy and smiling, helpful and caring. We choose to remember our aunt as she was before her illness took over and hope that others do also.
With loving and fond memories, rest in peace Aunt Lois, love Carol Woolsey and Sharon Hamm.
Lois will be laid to rest beside her husband Murray at Bowmanville Cemetery on Saturday October 24th at 1:00 p.m.
In memory of Lois memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. Lois’ family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the team at Wynfield for their care and compassion as well as a genuine thank you to Donna Wilson for years of love and support.
