Obituary for Matilda Joan Milson (Bigelli)

Milson, Matilda (Tillie)

Christened ‘Matilda’ and affectionately known as Tillie, she was the only beloved child of Mary and John Bigelli. Mother of five children, Carrie (Craig), Rosanne, John, Craig (Kim), Andrea. Grandmother of Jason, Dawn, Justin, Ashlea, Lynsey, Sierra, Bowen. Great-Grandmother to Carson, Marco, and Ilana. In the 70’s Tillie became a single mom to five children. Her children remember driving around in her orange Volkswagen Beetle, going for swims at Rouge Beach, and movies at the local Drive-In, Sunday morning pancakes, and how she graciously allowed them to bring all sorts of pets home - from snakes, bunnies, and hamsters to geese, horses, cats and dogs. She loved singing so much she recorded a duet with her son John, and passed on her joy and passion for cooking to her children and grandchildren as they all stood side by side with her in the kitchen. She was a 45 year strong fan of the Y&R, and a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Everyone will remember Tillie’s quick wit, sharp mind, her sarcastic humour, corny jokes, and most of all her sass. She was honest, could keep a secret forever, could chat on the phone for hours, helped everyone, and loved everyone. Mama Tillie was a mother to many, and also took care of her own mother. Tillie was a woman of faith who believed that with God “all things are possible”. Her favorite song Shine Jesus Shine fills the heavens. Tillie will be laid to rest beside her mother in Holy Cross Cemetary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope for Wildlife.
