Black, Nora Kathleen
Passed away peacefully at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of her family on January 6, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of the late Robert ‘Roy’ Black (2021). Loved and loving mother of Heather (Harry), Joanne (Jay) and Greg.
Cherished grandma of Blair (Rachel), Holly (Rocco), Sarah (Chris), Jesse, Kevin, Brian (Meaghan), Nicole and Riley. Proud great grandma of Clara and Sam.
Pre-deceased by her brothers Austin, Norman, Billy, Jim and Peter and survived by her sister Peggy in Northern Ireland.
Lovingly remembered by her niece Colleen as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of unit 5C at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 15th 2022 at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby from 1:00 – 2:00. A celebration of Nora’s life will follow in the Barnes Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
All guests wishing to attend the visitation or memorial service must register using the RSVP service on the Barnes website. Anyone who requires assistance to register may call our office between 10:00am and 4:00 pm. Please have an appropriate face mask and vaccination QR codes/records available upon check in at the funeral home.
Please note, under our current Covid-19 restrictions our funeral home will be observing social distancing at all times.
