O’Brien Tony

Tony was the keystone of his family, a man filled with generosity who dedicated his life to the happiness of those who surrounded him. He passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October the 3rd at the age of 60. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, son, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife Lesley, his children Neil, Spencer, and Courtney, his grandchildren Ryder, Max, and Lennon and his siblings Marta, Kandice, and Vincent.

He was selfless, loving, kind, and made a positive impact on all those who were lucky enough to know him. No matter how you knew Tony, he was always there to lend a hand. He coached any sport you could and was a mentor to all. He loved to golf, spend time with his grandchildren, and to connect with lifelong friends. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and to spoil his wife, always thinking of others first. Above all else, Tony was a family man and leaves behind a legacy of caring, kindness, and unmatched love. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

On behalf of all of Tony’s friends on the Franchise Support Services / Supplier (FSS) Committee of the Canadian Franchise Association, where Tony served as chairman, please accept our deepest condolences. Tony's leadership and guidance, not to mention his witty sense of humour, will be greatly missed.

This is very sad and shocking news. I met Tony when I was at Futurpreneur Canada. He was a warm, generous and incredibly supportive partner and his contributions helped many young people start businesses right across our country. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Tony was an amazing human. Not only was he a superstar advocate and supporter for entrepreneurs all across Canada, but he was also a down-to-earth, approachable person. He supported me and my podcast as it was launching. I will miss our lunches; although he did not like my vegan restaurant suggestion, we ended up at the Keg.

My sincerest condolences to the family. We met close to 25 years ago at London Guarantee. Kept in touch over the years. He always had smile, was always jovial and always liked to chat and catch up. And lets not forget his gift for insurance - developing products that were consistently profitable, even if some didn't understand exactly what they were. Truly a gentleman who will be missed by many.

Lesley, Neil, Spencer and Courtney,

Please accept my sincere condolences. Tony and I knew each other as teenagers. He was such a great guy. He lit up a room with his big smile and he was just fun to be around. I was lucky to have known him and the world is a lesser place without him. I hope your many great memories of him sustain you during this time and in the future. He won't be forgotten.
