Condolence From: Neil & Kay Fairhurst
Condolence: We had only met John a couple of times in the UK through our good friends Mel & Margaret Colgan. John was a lovely man who's company we really enjoyed on both occasions.
Our thoughts are with Lana and family at this sad time.

Condolence From: Elvira Edwards
Condolence: Hello, my name is Elvira Edwards. On behalf of Roger (deceased) and I, we would like to share our thoughts on our friend John.

Roger and I moved from Wales to Canada in the early 1980s.

John helped Roger and I so much, to adopt to our new life in Canada.

John, we thank you so much for this. You, Lana and Erica were such good friends to us. Thank you.

We have known John Stringer for 35 years. We met in Almonte, (Ottawa), Ontario, Canada, where we both lived for many years.

Before we met John, we first met Lana at her job site.

We became very good friends instantly. Then when we met John and Erica, we became family, and have had so many good times together.

Erica was 11 years old when we first met her, and, she spent lots of time with us.

John was always so helpful, so loving and such a kind man.

He loved his wife and daughter.

I will always remember John, when he went shopping for “beauty aids”.

He was a real family man.

John, you were such a great guy.
I will miss you.

Condolence: Hi have so many special memories of John it's difficult to know where to start. I don't think he ever realised the impact he had on my life. He taught me how to begin to trust others and that it is ok to talk. But my favourite memory is when me and my brother visited and we were winding my mum saying my brother had flooded the bathroom - all John's idea of course. Gone but never, ever forgotten. Lots of love to Lana, Erica, Alex and Steve xxx

Condolence: I have many fond memories with John when we were at Harpfield’s SM school, Staffordshire England.
John was always full of fun and tricks at school, I smile when I think of John and our school days. Who would have known in 1961 when we left school that we would meet again in Canada.
March 11th 1967, John was the chauffer at our wedding at St Marks Church Basford, Staffordshire England. John’s Mother made my wedding bouquet and the wedding flowers.
Rest in Peace John, God Bless.

Condolence: Although we never met John, we knew him through our correspondence with Lana. He seemed a very caring and thoughtful man, especially to his family, working to give Lana especially a good life with happy memories. What is obvious, he was strong and took his illness to the brink, and kept going.

Lana, our heartfelt sympathies are sent to you and hope that you too can be strong and try to enjoy your life in the same spirit that John did - have fun, be brave and do whatever you are able to do to enhance your life with friends and family.

Our thoughts are also with your daughter Erica and grandson.

Condolence From: Boris, Edith & Chris Grigorovsky
Condolence: Being on the opposite sides of the world we probably didn't speak as often as we should, although Boris enjoyed the phone calls from work and John always said that he paved the way into the Grigorovsky family for Allyson and Edith.

We will miss you John, be at peace now

All our love

Condolence: Uncle John was a man who had a great presence whenever he was in the room. The last time I saw him, he visited my family here in the UK and we went out for a meal. What struck me, after not seeing him since I was in my early teens, was the life that he'd lived. Anecdotes were coming in rapid succession, tales of his travels across the globe made me think about my own life and where I want to be at his age. Right until the end, he was optimistic and destined to fight. Admirably qualities to which we should all destined to emulate.

Rest In Peace Uncle John
